Before the season started we knew we needed creativity in midfield as we struggled to score goals. Also we needed to improve the defence as we had the second leakiest defence in the league behind Rotherham. Harry bought the best keeper in the league in Stockdale. GK wasn't priority as Kuszczak is a good keeper but having two top keepers is good. We tried to improve the defence with the Bristol pair of Flint and Bryan who would've been a massive improvement on Grounds and Shotton/Morrison. We were unwilling to pay the money and got Roberts who IMO is no better than Shotton though may be better if played on right side. HR was thinking 352 and bought Dean with that thought in mind but couldn't get the midfield pivotal to playing that system. Colin is a great signing. Jota will be a great signing once he gets over his injury. Vassell will get better. Ndoye has been a bit hit and miss. Harry got some good players in but the crucial requirement of a creative midfielder was not fulfilled. The defence is better than last year as I used to worry everytime the opposition got a corner. Maybe playing Jota or Boga as number 10 may be an option. The team is not far off being a very good side.
