Ouch! We'd have needed to score three to earn a point and that was never on the cards at such a tough venue. I wasn't there but I've read many fans claiming Kirkland was our best player, hmm. Think back to last season when Weaver got injured, RO'D came in and played well enough, pulled off a few impressive saves but couldn't keep a clean sheet and we dropped valuable points. Bywater came in and we went on a great run that saw us climb the table. He was pretty consistent towards the end of the season too, so he seems unlucky to be left out now if you ask me. Gets me thinking back even further, to when Tricky Trev splashed out to bring Chris Woods in when most of us thought we already had two great keepers on the books! Still, if DJ gets the defence sorted and Kirkland manages to shut out both Udders & Bolton this week, and we can add six more points to our tally, then it won't matter, will it?
