Thanks CrossC. The respect/hero worship analysis is useful. I would completely agree that, if we are measuring Bfc's directors against a personal or collective search for heroes, they would not get top grade. Can you remember what rate banks were putting on commerical loans in late 2009? Also, how much money was actually involved? Your very helpful WTBM summary of the balance sheets for 2008/9 and 2009/10 say that directors' loans were reduced from £4million to £1millioin, while other loans went up from £6million to £9million. Do you know where either are now? If we can establish that, we can discuss in a more informed way whether leaving the loans in would have been likley to make a difference; and we can feed a 'loans out' number into the next article: 'where's the money gone?'.
